Me, Cara and Sue (who was Baxter's girlfriend at the time) decided to go to Massachusetts the night before because we knew the guys were coming on pretty early the next day (by their standards). We were staying at the HoJo's (where else??) outside of Amherst. The band was driving in from the previous gig that morning (at that time, they had both the infamous green limo and a bus. . .y'know, the kind you can live on) but they were stopping at the ho Jo's to freshen up beforehand. For some reason, we were told to go on to the gig before the band. There seemed to be a bit of secrecy and I can remember saying to Sue "What are they up to?" I guess Baxter hadn't told her either because we were all a little mystified. As we were getting into my car to head over to the gig, I thought I saw Joey getting onto the bus wearing pajamas and a bath robe. . .nah, couldn't be! Hehehe. . . sure enough, when they came on, they were indeed wearing their pajamas. According to Terry it was just much too early for them to be up playing (they hit the stage around 11 a.m.). The bill that day was NRBQ, Bonnie Raitt, and B.B. King. I had the pleasure of meeting both Bonnie Raitt and Mr.. King that afternoon. Check out the photograph album and enjoy:-)!
